Why do we say that we're a community in transition? In the summer of 2020 St. Luke's Episcopal Church and St. James on the Parkway Episcopal voted to consolidate, forming a new Episcopal community in Minneapolis. Just as we united, COVID tried to push everyone apart. But that didn't stop our coming together. We gathered as a united community online via Facebook and YouTube, in small groups via Zoom, and when the weather would allow, in outdoor worship services. With our return to regular indoor worship, and with the installation of our new Rector—Rev. Susan Daughtry—we continue to move forward! This fall we will finalize a permanent name for our united parish, formally marking the end of our multi-year transition. We invite you to be part of building something new!
Certainty is overrated. It's our questions that keep us searching; our questions keep our faith active. We believe that the church can be a safe space to wonder, to think, to worship, to love, and to heal.
