St. Luke's Mission
“When in our music God is glorified, and adoration leaves no room for pride, it is as though the whole creation cried Alleluia!” – F. Pratt Green (The Hymnal 1982, Hymn #420)
St. Luke’s Music Ministry plays an extremely vital role in serving Worship. From the core singing of hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs by those assembled for worship, to the specially prepared musical offerings by choirs, instruments, and soloists, all music is offered solely to the glory of God.
We have five music ensembles, three of which meet weekly during the year (Sept thru May). For more information about any of these groups, contact our Director of Music, Larry Reynolds, at 612-824-2697, ext. 16, or email him here.

St. Luke’s Choir sings every Sunday at the 10 o’clock service, September through May. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday, 7:00-8:30 p.m., and at 9:15 on Sunday mornings. The choir also sings on special feast days, including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, and Easter. Other singing times include Festival of Lessons and Carols on Advent 4, and special concerts. The choir’s broad repertoire includes selections from classical and contemporary choral music, traditional and contemporary hymns, gospel, and jazz.

Several of our church members are superb professional orchestral musicians who enjoy playing for special services and concerts throughout the year, as well as weekly Sunday worship during Advent and Lent. On Christmas Eve, we enjoy having a large orchestra of twelve or more players. However, we are always looking for more players.
St. Luke’s Recorder Consort consists of both experienced and novice recorder players. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:20, and play frequently for Sunday worship, as well as for festival services. Open to all adults (college and older), and high school students (9th through 12th grade).
Bells of St. Luke's
Bells of St. Luke’s (handbells) ring in church one Sunday each month at the 10 o’clock service. Weekly rehearsals are held each Thursday, 7:30-8:30 p.m. Our ringers also play for Festival of Lessons and Carols on Advent 4, Great Vigil of Easter on Easter Eve, and Easter Day. Open to all adults (college and older), and high school students (9th through 12th grade).
